We Invite You to Participate in Attendance Area Facility Engagement Sessions

Your feedback is crucial! We invite you to participate in Facility Engagement Sessions. As valued members of our community, your input and feedback are vital as we work together to address the challenges facing our aging MMSD facilities and the long-standing issue of underfunding in K-12 education by the state of Wisconsin and the learning environments that serve our students.

MMSD needs go beyond what can be budgeted for in regular operating costs, especially given the challenges with the school finance framework. Our students deserve our best effort in moving forward with the next set of projects as determined by the MMSD Board of Education

Event Details: Each event will discuss facilities specific to it's attendance area. Join us for an optional tour of the newly renovated High School, thanks to the community support of the 2020 Referenda. Tour begins at 5:30 p.m.

  • May 7, 6 p.m. Vel Phillips Memorial High School, Watch a recording of the session
  • May 9, 6 p.m. West High School, room 2404, childcare unavailable

Empowering Our Students

Thanks to your support in the 2020 referendum, high school students now have access to improved learning spaces. These upgrades are a reflection of our community’s expectation – and right – to high-quality educational facilities.

With a continued focus on 21st Century classrooms and learning spaces, middle schools are in need of similar upgrades of mechanicals, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and classroom design. This would allow middle school students enhanced access to college, career, and community pathways, aligned with the learning experience and opportunities available at the high school level. However, MMSD’s needs extend beyond what can be budgeted for in regular operating costs, especially given the challenges with the school finance framework.

Join us for discussions on:

  • The current state of our facilities and their impact on teaching and learning.
  • Strategies for revitalizing our learning environment.
  • Needs and aspirations unique to each school community.

Join us and let's build a better tomorrow for our students and community. See you there!

Please Note: Light refreshments will be served and childcare will be available unless otherwise noted. Interpretation and ASL will be available onsite.
